A 60-km (37-mile) jet fuel pipeline being built by Emirates National Oil Co. (ENOC) has secured a flOOMM loan from Emirates NBD, Noor Islamic Bank, and Standard Charter Bank. The new line will connect a $142MM bulk liquid fuel terminal in the Jebel Ali Free Zone with the Dubai International Airport, and represents the second line to connect Jebel with the airport. The Jebel fuel terminal is expected to be completed in 4Q next year and will receive jet fuel from the adjacent ENOC refinery and marine tankers. The second line was deemed necessary due to an expected increase in jet fuel demand at the airport. According to ENOC's CEO, "The new bulk liquid petroleum terminal in Jebel Ali is set to energize Dubai's fast-growing aviation sector and is of strategic importance to Dubai's economic diversification initiatives.
