Anglo-Dutch Royal Dutch Shell plans to divest majority shareholdings in most of its African downstream units to Vitol Group and Helios Investment Partners for $1B. Under the agreements, Shell will retain equity shares in two new j.v. enterprises to guarantee continued supply of Shell fuel and lubricants to its 14 African markets, with the potential to expand that number to 19.
