Exports of diesel and gasoline from the country were down in May due to increasing domestic demand and an export duty placed on gasoline that went into effect May 1. Gasoline exports were down 65.1% in May from April's figure of 18.6K mt/d (158K b/d), to 6.5K mt/d (55K b/d). Domestic production of gasoline in May was up 26.9% at 89.9K mt/d (762K b/d), vs. the previous month. Comparing year-on-year levels, domestic production was up 4.1% and exports were down 3.1%.
