Consultancy: no end in sight for Appalachian shales.

According to a new study from Arlington, US Virginia-based ICF International, production from the Utica and Marcellus shale plays will grow from about 15B cf/d (424.8 MM m3/d) at present to 20B cf/d in 2016, 30B cf/d in 2025, and 34B cf/d in 2035—up substantially from the consultancy's previous forecast of just over 25B cf/d by 2035. According to Frank Brock, a market specialist for the company, however, "Our past forecasts were conservative, with risk to the upside. Now, I think we're more optimistic and the risks are on the downside."
