According to Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya, some of the company's first targets, once the Mexican government completes the task of opening the country's oil industry to foreign investment, will be projects to increase production from mature fields. "On the exploration and production side," Lozoya said in a recent interview, "the deals that should close earliest will likely be in mature fields...we are already having important discussions with players, not only in deep water, but in mature fields and other areas in Mexico.
