摘要

Members of First Union and Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union at New Zealand Refining's 107K-b/d Marsden Point refinery are planning a walkout on Oct. 7 and 8. The unions' members include 160 of the plant's 300 workers, and the company says that strike would involve a shutdown of the refinery, though it would be able to keep open the pipeline that runs from the facility to Auckland. "If the strike proceeds, the estimated time for a safe shutdown, two days of strike, followed by a restart of the plant, totals a minimum of 11 days," said NZR. "This time frame is dependent on a successful restart of the plant. This would result in a loss of processing fee revenue, which is expected to be in the range of $8MM to $9MM."
