Chevron to develop Polish shale gas, resume operations in Romania—again.

The US energy major Chevron will work with Polish state-gas firm PGNiG to explore shale gas reserves located in the southeast portion of the country in an effort to lower costs and speed up the development process. Both firms stated that if the cooperation is deemed a success, a 50/50 j.v. could be established aimed at further developing Polish shale gas reserves as both Chevron and PGNiG each currently hold two production licenses in the southeastern part of Poland.
