摘要

As the United Arab Emirates grapples with the need to import more gas to keep up with soaring electricity demand, two of Abu Dhabi's state investment firms, Mubadala and International Petroleum Investment Co. (Ipic), last week unveiled plans to build a floating LNG (FLNG) import terminal in the Gulf of Oman, at the mouth of the Arabian Sea. The terminal, which WGI understands will be owned 50-50 by the two firms, would be positioned off Fujairah, an important bunkering port and the site of several industrial developments, and start up in the next two or three years, a Mubadala spokesperson says.
