The Nabucco pipeline was dealt a blow last week when one of its investors, Hungary's Mol, publicly questioned the project economics ahead of the crucial selection next month of a Central European route for gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field. While that doesn't necessarily sound the death knell for the project, which has strong EU political backing, the lack of support from within certainly won't impress the BP-led consortium deciding how best to monetize the field's reserves.
