The Southwest Europe price jumped $1.80 to $11.80 per million Btu over the last week, while Northeast Asia rose 500 to $15.80, according to WGI assessments for spot cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks out. News that Qatar plans to close three of its largest trains consec-utively for two weeks each for maintenance from mid-September to early November had little impact on spot gas at Britain's National Balancing Point (NBP), which held flat at $9.18/MMBtu, as assessed by WGI.
