Natural gas integration was much in favor in Latin America in the 1990s as private investment spurred output in several countries and a proliferation of pipelines increased cross-border flows.By contrast,this decade is witnessing a process of gas dis-integration in the region that is leaving each country to sort out its own domestic energy needs as aging gas flows decline.
