Suez has written directly to French President Nicolas Sarkozy urging him to end the 18-month impasse over its planned takeover of state-run Gaz de France(GDF),the Financial Times(FT)reported Tuesday(WGI Mar.1 '06,p2).The report said Suez chief Gerard Mestrallet proposed that the government transfer shares it owns in Suez to GDF and stressed that Suez might consider other options if such an agreement were not reached by this weekend.
