Mexico's Third LNG Terminal

Mexico's new Pacific coast LNG terminal at Manzanillo is set to start up in November and, with the country looking to focus more of its power generation on natural gas, could become a busy destination for Repsol YPF's cargoes. In 2007, state power producer Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE) awarded Repsol a 15-year LNG supply contract to deliver 80 million cubic feet per day of gas into Manzanillo starting in 2011, rising to 500 MMcf/d by 2015 (WGI Jan.25'06). Once up and running, the terminal will supply gas to CFE power stations in central-western Mexico.
