France is no exception to the rule of falling gas demand in this year of recession. But so far, LNG imports have been immune, as they have been through much of Europe. While marketers wait for the inevitable drop in the price of long-term pipeline gas imports with lagging oil price indexation, French gas storage has been refilled — slowly — with regasified LNG.
