Reliance Industries is just hours away from transforming India's energy landscape with the start-up of production from its eastern offshore KG-D6 fields. The new domestic production is expected to not only wipe out the fuel deficit and displace costly naphtha at India's fertilizer and power plants, but also give a short-term bias to LNG import plans as Petronet LNG and other purchasers reassess likely future requirements (p1).
