The ramp-up by Qatar since summer of the world's three largest LNG trains, with a fourth due by year-end, has contributed to contin-ued softness in LNG markets worldwide (p2). In response, Qatar is tweaking its gas sales strategy, first by piping greater volumes to the United Arab Emirates, and longer-term, by pinning down new outlets in China.
