LNG Majors Eye US Gas Storage

Some of the biggest LNG marketers around are apparently planning to use US underground gas storage as a coping mechanism in the approaching period of global surplus — if they haven't done so already. One consequence could be to add to an already heavy expected storage build over the coming summer, potentially depressing prompt and forward prices, given US domestic gas traders' heavy reliance on storage levels as an indicator of market fundamentals (p6).
