With eight new gas production sharing agreements(PSA)set to come before Yemen's parliament for approval over the next few weeks,the Ministry of Petroleum is hoping to issue a model document shortly for paying international companies to develop gas discoveries.The government aims to give exploration activity a short-term boost,with the long-term goal of fueling nascent gas-based industrial and power sectors-and even expanding the country's nearly complete LNG plant(WGI Feb.20,p1).
