摘要

This note attempts to derive an inter-tidal transport equation coupled with turbulent-closure model in a tidal and quasi-steady current system with convection dominant or in the order of turbulent diffusion. In general, convection-diffusion equation describing the intra4idal process of concentration c in shallow sea or estuary can be expressed as where t is time; nabla is gradient operator; z is vertical coordinate;u denotes velocity vector; lambda is coefficient of turbulent diffusivity. Nondimensional form of eq. (1) is rendered as where both of nondimensional and dimensional variables have the same form, except theta = omegat(w is tidal frequency); k is the ratio of current speed to long wave phase speed; a = ..../k is the ratio of turbulent diffusion to convection transport.
