INTERVIEW Exxon's Tillerson: Blessing of LNG Riches

WGI recently met with Exxon Mobil Chairman and CEO Rex Tillerson to discuss the state of the oil and gas industry and the outlook for the future, including for LNG. Already a major LNG exporter in Qatar and Papua New Guinea (PNG), Exxon has nine other liquefaction projects at various stages of development across the globe. These include schemes in Canada, Alaska and the US Gulf Coast, a PNG LNG expansion, a possible development with state-owned Rosneft in Russia, and in Australia the Scarborough floating LNG scheme and Chevron-led Gorgon (WGI Aug.5'15). Tillerson is the recipient of this year's Petroleum Executive of the Year Award, which he will receive at a dinner in his honor during the Oil & Money Conference in London next month.
