Prices in Northeast Asia continued to soften, easing 200 to $18.40 per million Btu on thin trading amid the New Year holidays, but firmed 200 to $15.70 in Southwest Europe courtesy of tighter supply, according to WGI assessments for LNG cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead. The UK National Balancing Point (NBP) day-ahead price, assessed by WGI, fell 150 to $10.91, while February NBP futures slumped 270 to $11.24. Netbacks for Mideast sellers were just $2.50 or so higher on Asian than Southwest Europe LNG deliveries, whih UK-Belgian netbacks for Mideast sellers lagged Asia bv well over $8.
