South America Keeps a Floor Under Prices in Asia, Europe

Prices in Northeast Asia eased 20￠ to $19.40 per million Btu as buyers hung back in expectation that prices for April deliveries would ease and dropped 30￠ to $14.90 in Southwest Europe, according to WGI assessments for LNG cargoes for delivery four to eight weeks ahead. The UK National Balancing Point (NBP) day-ahead price, assessed by WGI, fell 36￠ to $9.38, while March NBP futures dropped 39￠ to $9.44. Netbacks for Mideast sellers were some $4.25 higher on Asian than Southwest Europe LNG deliveries, while UK-Belgian netbacks for Mideast sellers lagged Asia by around $10.50/MMBtu.
