IEA: Gas Will Lead Growth to 2035

Natural gas took a starring role in this year's World Energy Outlook (WEO-2013), the annual forecast released by the International Energy Agency (IEA) last week. Gas is going to be the fastest growing fossil fuel in the dash to meet global primary energy demand to 2035. Its growth will outstrip oil and coal use by a wide margin, and its expansion will be matched only by the increasing contribution from renewables — which attracted over $100 billion in subsidies last year, according to the IEA.
