摘要

Progress is being made at Iran's giant South Pars gas development, despite delays since local companies were forced to take over after international contractors quit because of sanctions, Iranian officials say. "These past two years were like no other due to sanctions, problems of financing and securing products," admits Mohammad-Reza Zahiri, managing director of Pars Oil and Gas Co., the National Iranian Oil Co. subsidiary overseeing the project (WGI Feb.27'13). Still, "Phase 19 had only 26% progress by March 2012, now it's at 60%," Zahiri told reporters at the 18th International Oil, Gas and Refining Exhibition in Tehran last month. "If we continue at this rate, we will be able to reach initial goals."
