Experimental studies on generation kinetics of n-alkanes in petroleum

SINCE normal alkanes are the most important components in crude oil, the research on generation kinetics for normal alkanes is very important for understanding the mechanisms of petroleum generation. However, due to complicated mechanism of n-alkane generation and lack of efficient analytical methods, so far there are few reports in this area. To overcome the limit, Chevron Petroleum Technology Company developed a special equipment named multiple trap pyrolysis gas chromatograph (MCTP-GC). This notewill deal with the experiment performed on this equipment.
