The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) held the Sixth China-Japan-ROK Forum on Northeast Asia in Beijing in October of 199.5. The forum was held on the occasion of the third anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Chinaand the Republic of Korea and the 50th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War against Japanese Aggression and at a time whenthere were new developments in the Sino-American and Sino-Japanese relations. The countries concerned all paid great attention to the forum and sent their outstanding scholars to it.
