Striving to Fully Implement the Central and Local Budgets for 1995

Thanks to the smooth progress of the reform and the rapid economic development, the 1994 state budget was implemented satisfactorily. According to preliminary statistics, total state revenue in 1994 came to 518.175 billion yuan, or 108.9 percent of the budgeted amount, an increase of 19.2 percent over the 1993 figure. Total state financial expenditures amounted to 581.976 billion yuan, or 107.2 percent of the budgeted figure, up 25.4 percent. The accounts showed a deficit of 63.801 billion yuan. Thedeficit in the central budget of 66.814 billion yuan did not exceed the budgeted figure. The local budgets registered a surplus of 3.013 billion yuan. These figures may change when the final national accounts are completed.
