Women play a significant part in Australian agricultural life, whether they are part of a partnership or going it alone. Jane-Anne Lee speaks to three women who love life on the land. JANE GREENSLADE is part of the new generation of farming women. Born to the land, she went to university then worked as an accountant before realising her true calling meant having soil beneath her feet. At 36, she feels confident enough to take on the job of managing Devon lodge, her family's 2000-acre farm in South Australia, where 1000 acres are cropped and the other 1000 are used to run 250 hereford cross-beef cattle.
