These crop protection experts share their insights on some ways growers can fight disease problems. FROM fire blight to powdery mildew, fruit growers always seem to have some new disease problem. Part of the problem is human nature. When you find something that works, you use it, again and again. The only drawback with that strategy is it leads to resistance problems. For this second of our four-part series on crop protection, we talked with representatives of a few companies that are focused on helping growers with resistance, as well as other disease problems. Our experts include Julian Smith, domestic sales director for specialty formulations for Brandt Consolidated; James Barrentine, director of technical services for Cheminova, Inc.; and Herbert S.
