Two new resources from the University of California provide updated information on vineyard pest management, as well as organic production. THE University of California (UC) Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) department recently released two publications that could be of interest to winegrape growers. One is "Vineyard Pest Identification and Monitoring Cards/' which are pocket-size laminated cards that can be used for quick and easy field references for recognizing, identifying, and monitoring common vineyard pests, diseases, disorders, and weeds. The guide includes descriptions and close-up photos of each pest, as well as information on life stages, monitoring tips, and measurement scales. Contributions come from several members of UC's Statewide Integrated Pest Management Program.
