摘要

FOR the past three to four years, almond growers throughout California have been noticing that the lower limbs of some of their trees have been dying. It appears to occur in orchards older than 10 years. And it seems that some varieties, such as Padre and Butte, and to a lesser degree Nonpareil and Carmel, are more susceptible than others. But that's about all that is known about the mysterious ailment, says Roger Duncan, a University of California (UC) Cooperative Extension pomology adviser.
