NEW York's next "big apple" will reach the marketplace quickly thanks to a New York Farm Viability Institute grant that is fast-tracking grower evaluation of advanced apple-breeding selections from Cornell University. Cornell horticulture professor and apple breeder Susan Brown says she hopes to identify two new potential varieties over the next two years.
