Note to Amtrak riders: Amtrak doesn't just transport passengers. A company called Express Trak has an agreement with Amtrak to haul its refrigerated rail cars filled with produce behind Amtrak trains. The company offers produce shippers fifth-day service from the West Coast to the East Coast. Sample coast-to-coast shipping times include: Los Angeles to Philadelphia, 67 hours; Oakland to New York/Northern New Jersey, 76 hours; and Los Angeles to Toronto, 73 hours. Western terminals include Wenatchee,WA, and Oakland, Bakersfield, and Los Angeles, CA. Destination terminals in the East include Albany, NY; Harrisburg and Philadelphia, PA; Detroit, MI (with through service to Toronto and Montreal, Canada); Atlanta, GA; and Jacksonville, FL.
