LOOKING back, 1994 was a turbulent year for the crop protection industry — from biased fear-based television reports about food safety and clean water to new rulings by the EPA. Last year saw a significant shift in policy at EPA as the agency settled a five-year old lawsuit. As a result, EPA is reviving the Delaney Clause as it evaluates 36 commonly used pesticides to find which may cause cancer and need to be banned.
