SCIENCE has contributed enormously to the advancement of modern society. But many advocacy groups, including some focused on the agriculture and food system, appear willing to entirely reject, or selectively undermine, the importance of sound science.And, the scientific establishment in agriculture is contributing to the problem by its current practices. Sound science can provide us with objective evidence needed to make good decisions. It can free us from the tyranny of emotions like fear and suspicion.
