FDA will be playing a greater role than ever before in dealing with the safety of the nation's food supply. WITH the passage of the Food Safety Modernization Act, FDA will now have greater control in monitoring the nation's food supply and working toprevent incidences of foodborne illness outbreaks. While it will take quite a bit of time to sort out what FDA's new role will be, it's not too early to briefly examine the new powers that have been bestowed upon the agency,' and how they might affect growing operations.
