How good is the grower information out there, and how will you access it? Changes in funding are altering the research landscape. For generations, growers have relied on their state land grant university's applied research results to guide their decisions. But as the government puts more and more of its research dollars into gene and basic research, how will you navigate the field for answers? Your first concern is finding good, unbiased sources. Otherwise, look for collaboration to be the key. Expect collaboration between land grant university Extension researchers, between Extension and commodity commissions, and even between commodity groups.
