Rebate offered for Johne's Disease testing: Canwest DHI provides incentive program

Dairy producers now have an incentive to find out whether they have Johne's Disease in their herd. Effective Dec. 1st, Canwest Dairy Herd Improvement Services is offering producers a 400 dollar rebate to test their whole herd for Johne's and follow upwith a one-hour consultation with their veterinarian. "We received 300,000 dollar in federal funding for Johne's awareness and training," Canwest DHI general manager Neil Petreny told B.C. Holstein Branch members at their annual meeting in Delta, B.C.,Nov 29.
