NFPA to Reimburse Code Officials for Travel, Lodging

In an effort to solicit more involvement from code officials and government agencies, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is instituting a program to reimburse code enforcers up to 80% of their travel and lodging expenses to attend NFPAtechnical committee meetings. The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) notes NFPA publishes and maintains about 300 codes and standards, and does so using technical committee volunteers. Vokmteers are drawn from several groups in order to qualify as a consensus process.
