The National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) in its April 8 NPGA Reports newsletter notes that despite recent setbacks, the chief Senate sponsors of the Employee Free Choice Act, commonly known as the card check bill, intend to bring up the legislation for hearings and markups before the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee after Congress' two-week spring recess. NPGA reports that there were recently two high-profile defections from support of the bill, Sens. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Blanche Lincoln (D-Ark.).
