The next stage of industrial growth will soon come to life on the Burrup Peninsula with construction for a new seawater system and a 3.6-million-litres-a-day desalination plant under way. With the promise of a secure and reliable water supply, the new infrastructure will lay the foundation for large-scale industrial growth in the region and be a key factor in snaring industrial developers looking to invest in the region. As more projects commit to construction in the area, the Burrup scheme has the scope to expand to meet the extra demands with its pipelines extending several kilometres from its source in King Bay.
