IN what it described as a "modest but significant step" in growing its core businesses, Boral has acquired a 50 percent interest in Perth independent concrete company Go-Crete. Chief executive officer Rod Pearse said the acquisition would enable Boral to increase its already strong construction materials position in the Perth market and boost its knowledge of the precast panel market.Go-Crete is the second largest independent company in the Perth concrete industry, with about a 5 percent share of the pre-mix market. Its concrete batching plant is strategically located in Perth's eastern growth corridors and close to Boral's quarry at Gosnells.
