Mandurah-based truck driver Bruce Jackman has been named Western Australia's top truck driver. The Jolly's Transport Services employee was presented with the BP Professional Driver of the Year award at the Transport Forum annual dinner in October. Underlining the quality of non-metropolitan drivers, the runner-up for the prestigious award was Glenn Seivwright of South East Petroleum in Esperance. HBL Chemtrans driver Peter Giles, of Heathridge, won the Dangerous Goods Safe Driver of the Year award, sponsored by the Mineral & Petroleum Resources Department. The finalists were Robert Jarrett, an industrial chemicals bulk freights driver employed by Wesfarmers CSBP at Kwinana, and Kenneth Beckhaus of Coogee Chemicals both of whom had also been nominated in other awards on the night.
