Road safety at work

With an average of 12 work-related vehicle crash fatalities occurring each year in Western Australia and figures showing that people are more likely to suffer an accident in a company car rather than their own vehicle, WorkSafe is taking action with new projects on road safety in the workplace. It is estimated that 30 percent of distance travelled in WA is work related, and 22 percent is to and from work. On a national level, road crashes accounted for about half of work-related deaths over a three-year period. Work-related road crash injuries are estimated to cost about half a billion dollars a year.
