Adiesel gas substitution system developed by a Brisbane company is claimed to save truck operators around 8c per kilometre traveled - or 20,000 dollars on a truck travelling the Australian average of 250,000km a year. The system developed by Atlas Gas through its subsidiary Truckgas runs propane gas and diesel simultaneously. Controlled by an onboard computer that monitors data sources including throttle position, oil pressure, temperature, alternator and road speed, the system varies the proportion of propane to diesel from 18 percent to 22 percent.
