2002 deadline for compulsory accreditation

Driver accreditation will become compulsory for the operators of heavy haulage vehicles under new regulations for the road transport industry announced by Western Australia's Planning and Infrastructure Minister, Alannah MacTiernan.In what's been described as the nation's toughest package of safety and licensing restrictions, MacTiernan says she will introduce major changes across seven areas of heavy vehicle operations management in WA. The changes are expected to come into effect by July next year.
