N.V. Bekaert S.A. has introduced a new generation of tension members for fiber optic cables that it says replaces both core element and strength members.Working with Deutsche Telecom, Bekaert developed the tension member, called Fibercord,~(TM) which it plans to market around the world, focusing on the U.S., Latin America and the Far East.
