Newly developed materials, new heat treating techniques and new-generation tooling that enables gap control and insures dimensional stability in motion, even at high temperatures. A new generation of magnet wire processing has been developed in North America, reconceived by Coppex Power Technologies, with the engineering support of BWE Ltd. (Ashford, Kent, England), the industry leader in the technology of Conform and nonferrous extrusion. This "redefining of the manufacturing process" has been bringing value to the supply chain in North America for three years, and has achieved full qualified status in all but one hydropower generator producers as well as with many of the largest transformer manufacturers in North America. Much of this innovation is now breaking new grounds in the USA as Coppex is continuing to innovate and advance the Conform extrusion technology as it applies to nonferrous copper wire. The head of engineering at Coppex, Louis Lemoine, has been rationalizing the process to develop peak performance, saving significant process steps from the traditional sequence.
