Ceremony marks dam completion at Abberton

Owen Paterson, secretary of state for environment, food and rural affairs, marked a major milestone in a ￡150million project to secure future water supplies to more than one and a half million people in Essex. The secretary of state visited Abberton Reservoir, near Colchester, to celebrate the completion of the dam being raised as part of the major works to expand the reservoir to hold an additional 15 billion litres of water.
