Cladding of pressure equipment; case studies and the choice of various types of application. Case study: cladding in the fabrication of coke drums

The purpose of this article is to provide a contribution on the subject of weld overlay on the basis of experience acquired by Walter Tosto SpA in the fabrication of cladded products. Following a brief overview of cladding processes, materials used and production guidelines, an analysis is provided of the specific case of the fabrication of coke drams, with a description of issues and solutions for overcoming principle criticalities.
